Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect on this site, why, and what your rights are. It is written to comply with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
What we collect and why
- Orders — your name, contact details, delivery address and order history, used to fulfil your order, take payment and provide support. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider; we never see your full card details.
- Trade enquiries — the details you give in the enquiry form (name, venue, role, contact details and your message), used to respond to you and arrange tastings.
- Newsletter — your email address, used to send occasional trade updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- Site usage — cookies and similar technologies keep your basket working and, with your consent, help us understand how the site is used. You can manage consent through the cookie banner.
Who we share it with
Our store runs on Shopify, which processes data on our behalf to operate the site, basket and checkout. We also share what is necessary with delivery carriers and payment providers to fulfil your order. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, and enquiry and marketing data for as long as we have an active relationship with you or your venue, or until you ask us to remove it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict our use of it, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email trade@hopeandglorytea.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the updated version on this page.
